Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use Scrub AI, and limited technical information needed to run the service.

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile details from Google sign-in, authentication identifiers, and account status.
• Submitted content, including text you ask Scrub AI to rewrite, AI detection results, generated rewrites, word counts, and related request metadata.
• Billing information, such as subscription tier, checkout status, invoices, customer identifiers, and payment status. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Scrub AI.
• Usage and device information, such as pages visited, interactions with the editor, approximate timestamps, browser type, IP address, logs, and analytics events.

How we use information

• Provide the editor, humanize submitted text, run AI detection, calculate usage, and return results.
• Authenticate accounts, prevent unauthorized access, enforce word allowances, process subscriptions, and provide billing self-service.
• Monitor reliability, troubleshoot issues, protect against abuse, improve product quality, and understand aggregated product usage.
• Communicate service updates, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

AI processing

Submitted text is processed through AI and detection providers so Scrub AI can produce rewrites and evaluate whether output meets the requested quality threshold. You should avoid submitting highly sensitive personal, financial, health, legal, or confidential information unless you have the right to share it and accept this processing.

Scrub AI does not intentionally store full submitted documents in the application database after a rewrite is returned. Service providers may process content, logs, and security metadata according to their own terms and privacy commitments.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information or submitted text. We share information only as needed to operate Scrub AI, protect the service, or meet legal requirements.

• Service providers, including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting and analytics, Anthropic for AI rewriting, and GPTZero for AI detection.
• Legal, safety, and compliance recipients when we believe disclosure is required by law, protects rights or safety, prevents fraud, or enforces our terms.
• Business transfers, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and comply with law. Retention periods vary by data type, account status, subscription status, and operational need.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and connected accounts secure.

Your choices

• You can choose not to submit text, disconnect from the service, or stop using Scrub AI at any time.
• You can manage paid subscriptions through the billing portal when available in your account.
• You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of personal information where applicable law gives you those rights.
• You can limit analytics through browser controls, privacy settings, or other tools, though some essential service data is still required to operate Scrub AI.

Children and international use

Scrub AI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

If you use Scrub AI from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may provide additional notice through the service.
